چکیده

Accurate localization of multiple sound sources is indispensable for the microphone array-based high quality sound capture. For single sound source localization, the CSP (Cross-power Spectrum Phase analysis) method has been proposed. The CSP method localizes a sound source as a crossing point of sound directions estimated using di erent microphone pairs. However, when localizing multiple sound sources, the CSP method has a problem that the localization accuracy is degraded due to cross-correlation among di erent sound sources. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new method which suppresses the undesired cross-correlation by synchronous addition of CSP coe cients derived from multiple microphone pairs. Experiment results in a real room showed that the proposed method improves the localization accuracy when increasing the number of the synchronous addition.

Statistical sound source identification in a real acoustic environment for robust speech recognition using a microphone array

It is very important for a hands-free speech interface to capture distant talking speech with high quality. A microphone array is an ideal candidate for this purpose. However, this approach requires localizing the target talker. Conventional talker localization methods in multiple sound source environments not only have difficulty localizing the multiple sound sources accurately, but also have ...

Near field sound source localization based on cross-power spectrum phase analysis with multiple microphones

We study sound source localization in the near field. In sound source localization research, 2D-MUSIC has already been developed. However, its performance degrades in diffused noisy environments. A localization method based on CSP in the near field has already been developed. However, localization accuracy depends on the accuracy of the estimation of the time delay between paired microphones. T...

Localization of multiple environmental sound sources by MUSIC method with weighted histogram

This paper presents an estimation method of environmental sound sources localization based on MUSIC method by small-sized microphone array. MUSIC spectrum depends on array manifold vector calculated from microphone array configuration and eigenvectors provided an observed signal. By considering the relation between a microphone array and MUSIC spectrum, we examine the arrangement of microphones...

Noise Robust Talker Localization Based on Weighted Csp Analysis with an Average Speech Spectrum for Microphone Array Steering

This paper proposes a noise robust talker localization method based on weighted CSP (Cross-power Spectrum Phase) analysis with an average speech spectrum as the pre-process of microphone array steering. The proposed method consists of two processes. First, CSP coefficients are weighted by analysis weight coefficients based on an average speech spectrum, which is trained with speech database, in...

Simultaneous Localization of a Mobile Robot and Multiple Sound Sources Using a Microphone Array

Sound source localization is an important function in robot audition. Most existing works perform sound source localization using static microphone arrays. This work proposes a framework that simultaneously localizes the mobile robot and multiple sound sources using a microphone array on the robot. First, an eigenstructure-based generalized cross-correlation method for estimating time delays be...
